Remover of the Tree Branch

Once Upon a Time,
Ganesha was roaming the eternal forests of Spring,
in the Land of Visions and Sugarplum Trees and
seedlings nestled in mother Gaia's rich ground.
Ganesha was tending to the Nature Garden of Secret
Wishes.
Each seedling was a wish planted by human being.
Much care was taken in planting the seeds.
The earth was tilled by earthworms and rich compost made by the
squirrel's discarding their nut shells, monkeys tossing banana peels
over their backs, and many other forest donaters.
The Garden Sprites who guarded the growth of the seeds
stood in breathless excitement each dawn for the new birth.
It would add to Mother Gaia's renewing light energy
for her planet.

Ganesha carefully tiptoed between the seedlings
as he hummed like a Winnie the Pooh:
Hmmmmmm De Dum
Hmmmmmm De Dum
Let's see what work is to be done,
Before I partake of my lovely ladoos and fruits,
awaiting me at the garden table.
Hmmmmmm De Dum,,,

when he felt the presence of something,
and his humming came to a content pause:
he peered over the protrusion of his jolly belly and was just about
to see what he was just about to tumble over:
OOH! OOH! OOH! a Tree Branch had fallen on top of
young seedlings.

The 3 inch high Green Sprites with their jester hats
and green leather pointed boots had been jumping up and down
for the last 10 minutes to grab the attention of
Magical Ganesha,
who was lumbering along in happy anticipation of his ladoos.

Magical Ganesha stood high above the little Sprites,
and waved them aside with jolly laugh:
Ho,ho,ho!
Don't be alarmed little Green Spirits!
Here I have my hatchet and the tree branch will be removed
without a single strain of my muscle,
as I call upon Baba of the Forests to channel the
invisible powers.
Stand back!

The little seedlings quivered.
The hatchet was swept through the air,
and the branch was chopped into pieces and flung
behind Ganesh's back. He raised his trunk into the air,
flapping his palm ears and roared in delight.

The little seedlings unfurled their first leaves
in front of Ganesh,
and new leaf after new leaf poked out from their woody stems,
until they were young sturdy trees,
offering their branches to the legged creatures in the forest.
